Function:
Control the operation of the traction machine:
The contactor controls the start, operation and stop of the elevator by connecting or disconnecting the power supply of the traction machine. For example:
When the up contactor is energized, the traction machine rotates forward and drives the car up;
When the down contactor is energized, the traction machine reverses and drives the car down;
When the contactor is disconnected, the traction machine stops running after power is cut off.
Switch the running direction:
Through the interlocked up and down contactors (usually in conjunction with relays), the safe switching of the elevator running direction is achieved to avoid the forward and reverse circuits being connected at the same time and causing a short circuit.

The core role of contactors
Safety control hub: through interlocking and safety circuit linkage, ensure the safety of elevator running direction, start and stop, and prevent accidents caused by electrical faults.
Power transmission switch: directly controls the power on and off of loads such as motors, and is the interface element between "strong electricity" and "weak electricity" (control system) in the electrical system.
System logic executor: through auxiliary contacts, transmit status signals to assist the control system to realize complex logic such as floor selection, door machine linkage, and fault detection.
