When the elevator button has the following conditions, it needs to be replaced immediately:
Severe appearance damage
Cracked button surface: The button surface has obvious cracks or broken, which not only affects the appearance, but more importantly, may cause the internal circuit to be exposed, posing a safety hazard.
Severe wear and tear: The numbers and logos on the buttons are worn out due to long-term use, which will cause inconvenience to passengers, easily lead to mispressing, and do not meet the requirements of safety regulations.
Deformed or loose frame: Deformed frame may make it impossible to install the button on the panel normally, and loose frame may produce abnormal noise or even fall off during the operation of the elevator, affecting the overall operating environment and safety of the elevator.
Function failure
Button unresponsive: After pressing the button, the elevator control system does not respond at all and cannot realize the corresponding functions, such as floor selection, door opening, door closing, etc. This may be caused by damage to the contacts inside the button, circuit connection failure or chip failure, which will seriously affect the normal use of the elevator.
Function disorder: The function executed after the button is pressed does not match the actual logo, such as pressing the door opening button but executing the door closing action, or pressing a certain floor button but reaching other floors. This situation will cause great trouble to passengers and also pose a high safety risk.
Button stuck: After the button is pressed, it cannot bounce back and remains in the pressed state. This will cause the elevator control system to continue to receive signals from the button, which may cause abnormal operation or even failure of the elevator.
There are safety hazards
Leakage: When you touch the button with your hand, if you feel an electric shock, or use a test pen to test that the button is charged, it means that the button has a leakage problem. This is a very dangerous situation and may threaten the life safety of passengers.
Internal circuit damage: After opening the button panel, if the internal circuit is found to be burnt, short-circuited, or line aging, even if the button is still working properly, it should be replaced immediately. Because these problems may cause button failure at any time, or even cause more serious safety accidents such as fire.
Severe aging
Material aging: The plastic or other materials of the button are aged and brittle due to long-term use, and are easy to break. Aging materials may also affect the performance and reliability of the button.
Performance degradation: As the years of use increase, the sensitivity, elasticity and other properties of the button gradually decrease. Although it can still be used barely, it can no longer meet normal use requirements and safety standards. Generally speaking, the service life of elevator buttons is about 5-10 years, and the specific time varies depending on factors such as frequency of use and environment. If the button is close to or exceeds this lifespan and its performance deteriorates, you should consider replacing it.
