Floor selection button
Function: When the passenger presses the target floor number button in the car, the button lights up (usually LED backlight) and sends a signal to the elevator control system. It automatically turns off when the elevator reaches the floor.
Features: Labeled by floor numbers (such as 1, 2, 3, B1, F, etc.), some high-end elevators will add a "registered" indicator light next to the button (independent of the backlight of the button itself) to avoid misoperation.
Function operation button
Door opening/closing button : Common in the car, used to manually control the opening or closing of the door (some elevators can accelerate the closing of the door by pressing the door closing button when the door is automatically running).

Durability: It needs to withstand high-frequency pressing (hundreds of times per day). The life of mechanical buttons is usually required to be ≥100,000 times, and that of touch buttons is ≥500,000 times. The button cap material needs to be scratch-resistant and oil-resistant (easy to clean).

Identifiability:
Clear identification: Numbers, arrows, and text need to be eye-catching (moderate font size). Some elevators are barrier-free and have Braille identification.

Backlight display: LED backlight (red, green or white) is used with moderate brightness (avoid glare) to ensure visibility in dark environments.

Safety:
Anti-mistouch: Emergency buttons are mostly designed to "require continuous pressing" or "with protective cover" to prevent children or misoperation.

Fireproof and moisture-proof: The outer shell needs to have a certain fireproof rating (such as UL94 V0), and the internal circuit needs to be moisture-proof (to deal with possible condensation in the car).
Compatibility: It needs to match the elevator control system (such as PLC, motherboard), and the signal output method (such as normally open/normally closed contacts, DC24V voltage signal) must comply with the elevator brand specifications (such as Otis, Mitsubishi, KONE and other elevator manufacturers may specify button interface standards)
