Function
Convenient for passengers to transition: Located at the entrances and exits of the escalator, it enables passengers to achieve a smooth transition when entering and exiting the escalator, allowing their feet to smoothly transition from the ground to the steps or pedals, and vice versa.
Anti-slip: The comb teeth on the comb plate mesh with the grooves on the steps or pedals, increasing the friction and playing an anti-slip role, which can effectively prevent passengers from slipping when going up and down the escalator and ensure walking safety.
Foreign object detection and safety protection: When a foreign object is embedded in the meshing point between the steps and the comb teeth, the comb plate will drive the comb front plate to move, and the inclined block connected to the comb front plate will also move accordingly. The screw compresses the spring. When it moves to a certain value, it will hit the safety switch, cut off the power supply, and stop the escalator immediately, thereby avoiding more serious accidents.

Structural design
Comb teeth: It is the part that directly contacts the steps or pedals. It is usually tooth-shaped and precisely matches the grooves on the steps or pedals. Its shape, size and number vary according to different escalator models. Generally, there are 14 teeth, 15 teeth, 20 teeth and other specifications.
Front plate: One side of the comb plate is supported on the front plate to provide support and fixation for the comb teeth. It also plays a certain protective role to prevent debris from entering the meshing area between the steps and the comb teeth from the side.
Micro switch: It is installed behind the comb plate. When the comb plate moves or lifts due to foreign objects stuck in it, the micro switch will trigger the action, cut off the control circuit of the escalator, and stop the escalator.
