Dual Protection: Mechanical Locking + Electrical Verification
Mechanical Aspect: The door lock device, through hooks, arms, and other structures, firmly locks the landing door/car door in the closed position, withstanding the impact of door opening and closing and external prying forces to prevent the door from accidentally opening.
Electrical Aspect: Built-in door lock contacts (safety switches) only close when the mechanical lock is fully locked, sending a "door closed" signal to the elevator control system. If the door is not locked or is forcibly opened, the contacts open, and the elevator will immediately stop or fail to start.
Interlocking Control of Elevator Operation Logic: The landing door lock and elevator car position are linked: The door lock unlocking mechanism is triggered by the car door's opening blade only when the car is stopped at the corresponding floor leveling area, allowing the landing door to open synchronously. If the car is not at the leveling position, the landing door cannot be manually opened from the outside (some elevators are equipped with an emergency unlocking device for maintenance personnel).

Common Types and Applicable Scenarios
Passive Door Locks: The most commonly used type. Unlocking power comes from the door's opening mechanism. They are simple in structure, highly reliable, and suitable for most passenger and freight elevators.
Active Door Locks: Equipped with an electromagnetic unlocking device, they unlock via an electromagnet-driven hook. They are often used in medical elevators, high-speed elevators, and other scenarios requiring high door opening and closing precision.
Core Maintenance Requirements
Door lock devices are mandatory inspection components for elevators. Regular checks are required on the hook engagement depth (usually ≥7mm), contact reliability, and return spring elasticity to prevent door lock failure due to component wear or corrosion, which could lead to elevator entrapment or a fall.
